A new Happycoffeepeople, today we have the pleasure to interview Joelma Nordhagen, that after attending Espresso Academy Courses has opened a successfull Coffee Shop in on of the northernmost country of Europe, Norway.
Hi Joelma, It’s a pleasure to talk again with you, it’s been a while since you attended Espresso Academy Coffee Courses.
Yes, I attended the Espresso Academy in October 2017. I was in the same as class as Robin ( from Canada she was also interviewed by you guys for Happy Coffee People ) I took coffee brewing and Barista course.
Three words (or even more) to describe Espresso Academy?
Place to learn.
I used to 3 words (hehehe) . But I should say that it is a place to learn with competent teachers and together with people from the whole world.
Do you think that what did you learn in Espresso Academy was important for your coffee career?
Yes, we learned to respect the bean and have fun while using it. We learned about different kinds of coffee and we tasted them. So I would say: work with responsibility and know what you do, but enjoy doing it. The clients will get this vibe.
So, after the courses you have started your own coffee business…
Yes, I’m working with coffee. Some months after the course, me and my husband opened Brasil Barista in Mo I Rana, a city in north of Norway. Brasil Barista was really well received. We have focus in quality and service and we won a prize for Best Service in town for 2018. Guess that besides the quality and service, clients also enjoy our place because of the brazilian vibe and soul
