With this post we continue the #Happycoffeepeople series, introducing Dorea Szathmàry a passionate barista and Latte Art trainer that we met during a full week of training in Budapest, Hungary.
-Hi Dora, are you a #Happycoffeepeople?
-Thank you so much for the opportunity to talk about my coffee story in this post. I have been in the coffee industry for 3 years right now. I participated in the training of Espresso Academy in Budapest in 2017 and that’s when I really I started to get passionate about this job. Although it was only a week, I learnt so much that this is still the base of my practical Barista knowledge. Simone Celli, my trainer, motivated me so strongly and I decided that I wanted to pass on the same passion to my students.
-What’s your actual Coffee Job?
– After completing Espresso Academy’s training I managed to get the position of Barista and Latte Art trainer at Best-Mixer which is Hungary’s #1 barista school. During my courses I have been enthusiastically striving to convey the knowledge that I had gained from Espresso Academy Course.
– Coffee competitions are also a way to improve a lot your skills, I know that you love to compete with other barista….
– Yes, meanwhile I started to apply for competitions , I have won an European Barista Championship and the moment I am more focused on latteart. My goal is to represent Hungary at the World Latteart Championship in the future.
– Could you suggest to other Baristas to follow our courses?
– Surely, Espresso Academy offers a wide range of courses about coffee and they can prepare Baristas for competition too. I would like to be their student again and I hope we will have the chance to work together in the future!
