The SCA Skill Diploma System
Passing just one exam does not make a student a professional.
Handling a profession, as a barista, roaster, taster and green coffee expert, requires expertise in various areas of the coffee world.
This is why SCA created the Coffee Skills Diploma, to create a path that certifies professional competence in a defined sector of the coffee supply chain.
What are the SCA skills diplomas?
SCA divided the coffee world into four professional areas, and therefore into four specialization paths:
- SCA Coffee diploma
- SCA Roastery Diploma
- SCA Trade Diploma
- SCA Sustainable Coffee Diploma
SCA Coffee diploma
This route is designed for people working in contact with the final client, where they are requested the capability to create, prepare, and promote a sustainable specialty coffee experience.
SCA Roastery Diploma
Thought to prepare the students working in the roastery. Green, sensory and, of course, roasting skills for the best result with Specialty coffees.
SCA Trade Diploma
The aim of this path of courses is to prepare the learner in the capability to handle, evaluate and trade the green coffee;
SCA Sustainable Coffee Diploma
A diploma thought to prepare students in the development and implementation of best practices for a more sustainable coffee industry, while having a broad understanding of the skills applied in different sectors of the supply chain.
